ה-MMS-1 הוא ממיר (DAC) שפופרתי, שרת מוזיקה וסטרימר ברמת Statement, וספינת הדגל של MAVIS.

ה-MMS-1 משלב בגוף אחד ממיר שפופרתי מתקדם, המשתמש בטופולוגיה R2R המוזיקלית להפליא, יחד עם סטרימר ורסטילי וקל לתפעול ושרת מוזיקה עם קבצים עד 4 טרה.
המכשיר בנוי כל-כולו בקלאס A ואפס פידבק, והוא מלאכת מחשבת של מעגל מינימליסטי חכם, ורכיבים ברמה קיצונית המיוצרים בעבודת-יד ארטיזנית במיוחד עבורו: שנאי טורוידלי עצום בגב המכשיר ובנפרד ממנו, שני צ'וקים ענקיים, קבל שמן עצום, וכן שני שנאים מסיביים, אחד לדיגיטל ואחד לאנלוג.
התוצאה, בין השאר, היא שתי תכונות נדירות ביותר בעולם הדיגיטל: תחושת חיים רוטטת וססגוניות טונלית.

הבליטה מימין בגב המכשיר מכילה את השנאי הטורוידלי הענק, המבודד לגמרי משאר המכשיר כדי למזער השראות אלקטרומגנטיות ורעידות. משמאל למעלה ניתן לראות שלוש כניסות דיגיטליות, כולל BNC. יציאת ה-XLR מאוזנת לגמרי (True balanced) – מה שמשפר משמעותית את רצפת הרעש ואת הטווח הדינמי, כמו גם את התלת-ממדיות של במת הסאונד.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the MMS-1 is its 24-bit discrete R-2R DAC architecture combined with an EL84 Single-Ended Transformer-Coupled tube output stage.
