ה-EXTREME 600 הוא היברידי, אבל לא במובן הנפוץ של המושג – כלומר, יחידת קדם-מגבר שפופרתית ויחידת כח טרנזיסטורית. לא, ה-EXTREME 600 הוא יצור יוצא דופן בהגברה העולמית: במילים פשוטות, מדובר במגבר שפופרתי Single Ended עם יציאה טרנזיסטורית. כלומר, ה-Driver stage שלו פועל כמגבר שפופרתי Single Ended, קלאס A, אפס פידבק, שהכח שלו מתעצם בזכות שלב מוצא (Output stage) טרנזיסטורי הכולל שנאי מוצא (Output transformers) אדירים.
